Anthropic really doesn't want me to sleep: they keep extending Fable usage in our current plans. It's still available, so I'll keep exploring.

Minimal blueprint-style line illustration of an open book unfurling into a branching network of paths, one path tipped with a small maroon accent.

Two weeks into working with Fable, I've been handing it increasingly complex work: code repo reviews, a complete UI rewrite and overhaul of an internal tool I built (that wasn't a one-shot pass but it was close), a harness to automate parts of my own workflow. Stuff I'd have called genuinely hard a year ago. It's handled almost all of it well. Not perfectly. Well.

I kept waiting for the wall, the point where it breaks and I have to take back over. Still haven't found it.

So the constraint isn't the agent anymore. It's whether I can think of something big enough to be worth handing it.

For years the ceiling on what I could build was execution capacity. Now it's imagination. I actually have to work to come up with problems hard enough to hand off.

Strange problem to have. But it's a good one, too.
